What is a computer? - Part 2 - Types of computers

Our computer training for today will focus on different computers. In our last lesson we talked about what computers and computing history. Computers can be very large or very small. There are supercomputers, large computers with thousands of linked microprocessors that perform extremely complex calculations. Some computers in cars, TVs, stereos, calculators embedded, and even appliances.

Each design is built for computersspecific tasks and functions. Desktop or personal computers are made to be used by one person at a time. Basics on our computers today in class, you learn about the different types of PCs: desktops, laptops, PDAs and Tablet PCs.

Desktop Computer:

desktop computer (as the name implies) are designed for use on desk or table. They are generally larger and faster than other types of personal computers. Desktops areseparate components. The system drive is the main component or in your main computer. rectangular shape, you can sit on your desk or in the frame. Other components are the keyboard, mouse, speakers and monitors.

Laptop computer:

Laptop computers are usually light notebook with a good LCD screen. I'm sure that must have seen a lot of them, or even a workout for your computer. They are sometimes known as notebookComputers because they can be used in place of a notebook with the paper. Laptop can run on batteries, so you must work to bring anywhere. Unlike desktops, laptops are completely self-sufficient. The laptop folds and closes like a book. Therefore, it is easy to learn, how quickly your computer, where to go.

Handheld computer:

handheld computers, including personal digital assistants (PDAs) are called, are the computer on battery power, asBlackBerry. laptops are not as fast as desktops or laptops, handhelds are useful for making appointments, keeping track of addresses and phone numbers and games.

Some handhelds have advanced features such as the telephone or the Internet. Instead of a keyboard, handheld computers or PDAs have touch screens that allow you to use your finger or a pen that looks like a pen without ink. Tablet Computer
